Tacky Snowboard Test - Yes 159

Le Glacier 3000, Switzerland, 10/6/2009 by Anthonie de Vries
The Yes 159, or 'the black and red one' as we called it during our test in Switzerland, is good for the bigger and heavier riders. It also has a 'banana shape' and is like the bigger brother of the Yes 156.5.
Board specifications
Length: 159
Type: Freestyle
Shape: Twin-Tip
Base: Sintered
Technical Features:
Asymmetric Rocker, Twin-Tip Ultimate Grip.

Test results
Flex/Stifness 1-10 (1 is flexible, 10 is stiff)
6
The 159 seems a bit less stiff then it's smaller brother. Still with the reversed camber it works out great!

Pop 1-10
7

Big board, still good pop!

Terrain 1-10(1 not suited, 10 very suited)
Rails - 6
Kicker - 7
Slopes - 8
A bit long for the rails but really good on kickers and of course also very fast on the slopes.

Looks
The looks are pretty simple with the red and black retro style.

Technical features
Like with its little brother we didn't have any background information about the technical features in the board from this brand new company. The banana shape rocker on the 159 seems a bit more radical then on the 156.5 and also works great!

Extras
No real extras.

Pros
YES!, good rocker, small brand making great board.

Cons
Simple graphics.

Who would like this board? Level 1-10
5

Bigger riders who like fun boards.

Happiness Factor 1-10 (How much did our testers like the board?)
7

Good one for the bigger testers.

Seb Toots went with a team on the road in Montreal, Canada with one goal, hard rails on street spots. Filmed with Scarlett Red and Arri Alexa, the footage looks so amazing, and there are lots of bangers. Totally worth watching! See the video
